Welcome to RentalFlexi.co.za (“Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the RentalFlexi.co.za website and services. By accessing or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. About RentalFlexi
RentalFlexi.co.za is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects asset Owners with Renters in South Africa. We facilitate the rental of assets such as tools, equipment, vehicles, electronics, camping gear, and more. RentalFlexi itself is not the owner or renter of any listed assets — we only provide the platform.
2. Definitions
- Owner – A user who lists assets for rent.
- Renter – A user who rents assets from Owners.
- User – Any person using the Platform (Owner, Renter, or visitor).
- Asset – Any item listed for rental on the Platform.
- Booking – A confirmed rental agreement between Owner and Renter.
3. User Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Listings and Rentals
- Owners are solely responsible for the accuracy, condition, and legality of their listings.
- All listings must comply with South African laws and must not include prohibited items.
- Renters are responsible for reviewing the Asset’s description, condition, and terms before booking.
- A binding rental agreement is formed between the Owner and Renter once a booking is confirmed and payment is made.
5. Payments and Fees
- RentalFlexi collects payment from Renters and releases funds to Owners after the rental period (subject to our release schedule).
- We charge a service fee on each successful rental (visible during the booking process).
- All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR).
- Late returns, damages, or cleaning fees will be charged according to the Owner’s policy.
- At times a holding deposit may be required based on the owners terms
6. Insurance and Liability
- Optional insurance may be offered during booking.
- Owners and Renters are strongly encouraged to verify insurance coverage.
- RentalFlexi is not liable for any damage, loss, theft, or injury related to the use of any rented Asset.
- Users agree to indemnify RentalFlexi against any claims arising from their use of the Platform.
7. User Responsibilities
Owners agree to:
- Provide accurate descriptions and photos.
- Deliver the Asset in clean and good working condition.
- Respond promptly to booking requests.
Renters agree to:
- Treat the Asset with care and return it in the same condition.
- Use the Asset only for its intended purpose.
- Return the Asset on time and to the agreed location.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellation policies are set by each Owner and clearly displayed during booking.
- RentalFlexi’s cancellation and refund policy applies in addition to the Owner’s policy.
9. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Platform to:
- List illegal, dangerous, or prohibited items.
- Engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or spam.
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on RentalFlexi.co.za (logos, design, text, etc.) is owned by us or our licensors. Users grant us a license to use their listings and uploaded content for Platform operations.
11. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you breach these Terms. You may also terminate your account at any time.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RentalFlexi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page.
